I Love You, Starbucks Verismo

While I have been known to write love letters to my dinners, that’s comparatively sane next to my love of the Starbucks Verismo. Seriously, I wasn’t a coffee drinker before, but now I am.  I love it so much that I featured it in Recipe4Living’s Spring 2013 Gift Guide and wrote an article about it. Now, I am blogging about it. Read on for more!
First off, let’s talk about my disdain for coffee prior to trying this thing out. Frankly, I didn’t like it. It tasted like bitter mud, I don’t care how quickly the single-serve coffee maker heats up. As much as I’d love to sit back and wait all day for a delicious cup of coffee, I can’t. All I wanted was quick delicious coffee. Then this slim, silver Starbucks wonder slithered it’s way into my life. Not only can this thing make a delicious cup of Starbucks coffee, but it can make espressos too.

For you espresso snobs, yes this machine has 19 bars of pressure, so you will get that delicious, frothy crema on top. The machine also comes with some milk pods, which means you don’t have to heat and froth your own milk. The machine gets to the right temperature and fills your mug with piping hot (and frothy) milk.

I think one of my favorite parts about the machine is what a barista nerd it’s turned me into. I bought some of Starbucks’ syrups and made myself a Caramel Macchiato just like Starbucks. When I say just like Starbucks, I mean just like Starbucks because I’m using their machine with their coffee and their milk and their syrups. Short of being Mark Cuban or Donald Trump and putting a Starbucks in my bathroom, this is as close as I can get to having one at home. Personally, that suits me just fine.
